Art this week...

Hello All!
Just getting started with the blog thing so hang in there till I get it right. Thanks Jill, for all your help and paitence.../I'm a slow learner!!!
Here's what happened in Art this week:
Sixth grade watched me demonstrate how to make the Chinese scrolls; tearing the paper stencil and creating mountains for the background. We also talked about using the bambo brush.

Fifth grade is learning the basics of printmaking. I did a demo on how to make a print using a small biece of styrofoam. We cut the foam from meat trays and foam plates. Lots of fun!!!

Fourth grade learned how to draw faces/heads and drew a picture of their Famous Kansan for their report with Mrs. Dixon. They turned out great
.
Third grade is contuining their work on collage. They are making a still life for their first project.

Second grade drew pictures that relate to the Personal Naritive they wrote in Mrs. Molina's class.

First grade got a real treat! I read to them and showed them pictures from Shel Silverstein's book, "Don't Bump the Glump". Then they started drawing their own Glumps and writing rhymes to go with them. They also had to give their Glump a name.

Kindergarten finished up a project on villages we started before Christmas break.

All in all, a very busy week.

That's all for now...thanks for tuning in,

Jay (Art Dude!)
